Don't Think "Chalta Hai"

Hello friends,

Chalta hai, we keep saying and hearing this phrase all the time.

Everytime when we have something or somebody not working upto expectations.

Or when we see that those in power are lacking in their responsibilities.

When we know somebody working professionally could have saved us our misery.

When we know that some municipality engineer doing his job honestly could have saved somebody's life in a road accident.

When a politician taking real care of his constituency could have prevented garbage piling in the area, poor or no lighting on the roads and so many headaches for us citizens.

In circumstances like these, we always give in and say those two words - chalta hai. But after the attacks on Mumbai, we will have to change. If some people had done their job honestly, we would not have gone thru what we have.

This is sheer irresponsibility!!

Now it becomes our job to teach these people a fine lesson. A lesson of doing one's own job honestly.

WHO are these guys?

They are our politicians!@#

They are our bureaucrats!@#

They are our corrupt policemen!@#

They are our sarkari systems!@#

What exactly we can do?

Here are the things we can:

• Raise our voice when we see something is wrong.
• Go to our local corporator/MLA/MP/Municipality officer and ask for things bothering you, be it not enough street light in the neighbourhood or garbage piling on the roads or pot holes in the road.
• Raise our voice against any injustice.
• As Shahrukh Khan says in that ad, Just Don’t Be Santushta.
• Imagine what can be the ideal condition in our area and fight for it.

Can we just start with that? If out of 100 crore people, even 5 crore people start doing that, things will have to change.

I have started doing all this, and I will return to write only when I have something to tell you.
